HINGES
Hinges
are the mainstay of any door installation. An incorrect specification of a set
of door hinges will lead to premature wear on the locks, lever furniture and door
closers. A correct specification will lead to the extended life of all door
components.
Hinges
take into account the width, weight and usage of a door. The hinge knuckle is
either washered or has a ball bearing race to ease its opening and closing action.
Hinges can be specified to either simply hang a door in its frame, to raise
a door over a carpet threshold or to give the ability to easily remove the door
from the frame. Hinges are available in a range of sizes and finishes and materials.
Hinges
can conform to various levels of standards and specifications. Presently hinges
are specified to a "class" standard and more recently the introduction
of BS EN1935:2002. The crossover between the 2 standards occurs in the higher
specification hinges and where this is apparent we have referred to both.
As
part of any specification, our staff endeavour to supply hinges that are more
than adequate for the application, below is a selection of our range of hinges,
this is by no means exhaustive, if you cannot see what you require then please
contact us.

improved in the fact that the hinge conforms to the latest type test requirements
